1. What is your position towards media?
2. What is your opinion about it?
3. How do you support your opinion?
4. Which counter-arguments may be considered?
1. The mass media are a product of the technological advances, therefore, it is a creation of the society to keep the people informed but especially to create culture from the interests of the media.
2. I think that they are the best tool of our epoch: thanks to them we can communicate and know what happens in the whole world. Nevertheless, some personal interests of the owners of these medias, do that in occasions they give us partially certain information.
3. A clear example of these interests, it is one of the privates channels of our country: RCN. The owner of this channel is the owner of the company POSTOBON too and in his channel only he does advertising to POSTOBON, does not do it the same with COKE.
4. Internet is an example from which already the big capitals are not needed to communicate with the others and at the same time, to publish our interests only we have to open a web page and everything is ready.

I think that this article is true, because it shows how the wolves are important inside the yelowstone national park, in order that they make a balance inside the ecosystem. If they are not in there, the elk would eat up all the plants of cotton and the willows, so thats why the wolves are so important because they feed of the elk and these are afraid about them, therefore they are not so close to these plants since the wolves live in there and the elk avoid to be in dangerous places where they can be hunted.

I believe that the problem between Palestinian and Israel has such a distant and so complex origin, which would be ingenuous to believe that with a simple wall the differences will be ended. On the contrary, i think that the unique thing that it does is to enlarge the differences between both cultures.

World Problem Awareness Video Task 1.
Fighting gender-based violence is a major concern for UNIFEM, because violence against women is a universal problem and one of the most widespread violations of human rights. One in three women will suffer some form of violence in her lifetime, becoming part of an epidemic that devastates lives, fractures communities and stalls development. Despite some progress on this issue over the past decade, its horrendous scale remains mostly unacknowledged. New dimensions include the global trafficking of women and girls.
UNIFEM Responds: Strategies That Make a Difference.
UNIFEM works on several fronts to interrupt the cycle of violence against women, with an overall objective of linking violence to the source that feeds it: gender inequality. UNIFEM multiplies the power of its groundbreaking strategies through advocacy campaigns and close partnerships with governments, women’s groups and other branches of the UN system.
Protective laws and national actions: In a number of countries, UNIFEM works with its partners on establishing legal frameworks to combat violence. Laws alone, however comprehensive they may be, must be followed by plans for specific national actions, which is why UNIFEM is active on this end as well.
Measuring the problem: UNIFEM has been at the forefront of supporting the collection of data and research on violence against women. Much of this information would otherwise not exist, making it impossible to understand the scope of the problem, or devise the means to stop it.
Prevention: Strategies to stop violence before it starts are essential, but lack resources and visibility. UNIFEM supports prevention initiatives from the local to the international level, including in conflict and post-conflict situations, where violence against women is prevalent and horrific.
Support for women’s organizations: Women’s organizations have developed some of the most creative and effective responses to violence, often in societies where the problem is otherwise largely ignored. UNIFEM helps draw attention and resources to these efforts, and brings the voices of activists together across countries and onto the international stage.
The Trust Fund to End Violence Against Women: Housed within UNIFEM, the Trust Fund offer grants to innovative projects to prevent violence that are run by community, national and regional organizations. With relatively modest sums, grantees have passed new laws, trained police, and involved men and boys in stopping violence. The Trust Fund also collects and shares information about effective strategies that can be replicated or implemented on a larger scale.

Lastly, the TV shows doesn’t means any risks to children, at least not always if they see it with her parents or with an adult that can explain the contents to them. Also, the responsibilty of educate the children is not exclusive of the mass media, is responsibility of the whole society too.
Example 2.
In my opinion, TV should check the content of its programming before emit them because in this way television can control dangerous things for kids. Nowadays, is so much frequent to listen a kid talking about television programs that on things that could help to his intellectual and personal growth.
Example 3.
Taking everything into account, We think that all that Internet offers a good service, but books are better source to find information because has a specific things. To sum up, Internet can not replace book in a long time.
Example 4.
Nowadays, we watch in the television many programs that show a high level of violence which is not good for the children. In addition, in many cases children imitate what they see in these programs. Taking everything in account, the children should be accompanied always by responsible adults when they see television.
Example 5.
Taking everything into account, television is a good tool in order to children amuse themselves and simultaneously they learn. Nevertheless, as not all the programs are suitable for them, the parents should see television with his children so that protect them of bad things.

This is a typical comedy where we can find the different personalities that colombian people have. Is a funny story and at the begining we can know what the end is going to be, but the development of the plot makes the story really interesting.
The only recomendation that I have is just that everybody has to see it because ugly betty is one of the best soap opera that I have never seen. Also this story is not only produced in Colombia, you can find it in USA, Spain and Russia too.
