Independent Work No. 12 The Movie Review

Forrest Gump is a movie drama story adapted in 1994 of a novel of the same name published in 1985, written by Winston Groom. The film was directed by Robert Zemeckis and led by Tom Hanks. Besides Hanks, act prominent figures like Robin Wright Penn (Jenny Curran), Gary Sinise (Lieutenant They Give), Taylor Mykelti Williamson (Pvt. Benjamin Buford 'Bubba') and Blue Sally Field (Ms. Gump). Forrest Gump had 13 nominations to the Oscars and won in 6, like Better movie,Better Director and Better Actor.

The plot revolves around Forrest Gump`s life. This story begins when Gump was a child; he has a serious problem is his legs, but one day this problem desappears. Forrest is a sweet young man that suffers a mental delay. However, this mental problem is not a barrier because he, after many unbelievable events, becomes to be very famous and very rich. He has the opportunity to share experiences with another very famous people, like the president Nixon, Mao Tse Toung and others. Also, He creates with one of his best friends, the lieutenant Dan, Apple.

This movie shows us that, if we want, everything is possible. It is a movie where love and the power of our mind are two pricipals things that have to be present in live. It is possible that a lot of people feel identified with Forrest because he fulfills all his problems having a lot of difficulties. Also, the cast is excellent, especially Hanks, who demostrated that he can do this kind of role furthermore of comic characters.

I can thoroughly recommended this movie because may be it will change what you think about the problems that you have. Only when we watch this kind of films, we can see that not everything in our life is so bad. Also, everybody should find the “Forrest” that is inside.
